I like the representation of woman as a sublime creation of nature. Though the Romanticism and Renaissance period are long gone, sometimes we need to approach the idea of Human as an ideal. The perfection beyond all our imperfections. It is a miracle to look back at our development, at our evolution, at all things the mankind succeeded at during the centuries.
And the most amazing thing is that we can operate this change starting with ourselves. We can be whatever we want to be -with a bit of determination and with the understanding that a long journey is composed by many little and precise steps.
There is no important goal to be achieved without significant effort. There is no musician playing guitar in the crazy way of Rodrigo & Gabriela, no ballerina performing main role in "Nutcraker" without thousands of hours spent studying, trying, failing, trying again, trying again. It is indeed just a matter of investment: your soul, your time, your dreams.
This post is dedicated to the miraculous energy that lies in us, the one that drives us to the top and makes us art. We are art.
So start fighting for your dreams, today is just the perfect day, don't procrastinate and -the most important- believe in your uniqueness.
You can be whatever you want to be, you have it in you.

Since I've been introduced to Jakatta's music few years ago, I systematically pick up this wonderful piece each time there is a need for self-introspection, for taking time with yourself. I feel it has an ambivalent effect, peaceful with the predominant rhythm, yet the sharp notes and the voice in the background make you wonder if "it will be"...

Modigliani and Jeane Hebuterne. Tribute to love and beauty

A fine piece of art increases its value and connection with the viewer -the viewer being me in this case, more specifically - as I manage to get behind the image itself and immerse into the life of the painter: his background, his dreams, his inspirations, challenges, failures, successes, all contribute to a better perception of the art item.
Modigliani and Jeane Hebuterne create such a vibrant world in this static painting universe. Their love, literally lasting until the very end of life, the vicious painter and his young muse -as she was 19 years old, the Montmartre unique charm, these all define the emotions I feel when looking at Modigliani's paintings.

DailyArt -Daily Dose of Art

I want to share with you one of the methods I use for developing my knowledge of paintings and painters.
DailyArt - Daily Dose of Art App from Google Play is such an amazing way for indulging myself into different bites of fine art that were very carefully chosen. The application publishes one fine art item per day-it includes a very good resolution painting, together with its name, year of creation and painter. It is one of the 12 best educational apps of 2012 according to The Next Web.
But what makes this application so great is the description of the painting, the short and yet meaningful details of what it stands behind its conception.  I absolutely appreciate that the descriptions are not copied from wikipedia, but written by Zuzanna Stanska and her team. Zuzanna is the founder of DailyArt; she is truly an art admirer and enthusiast. I started following her on Instagram as well and discovered her usual life rotating around museums, theaters, wines, nature, friends.
We are incredibly lucky to live in a miracle period and benefit of the technology's help in reaching not only inspiring people, but also accessing an enormous online library full of relevant information. Information and data that few decades ago implied scholars traveling to different countries, spending days reading books available only in those specific libraries, taking notes since there was no xerox, and, prior to these, learning foreign languages so they could understand the materials,

Octavio Paz and Catrin Welz Stein

I always tend to associate artistic photos with literature. It is like small parts of me unite in order to create a bounded universe, a certain emotion that involves more of my senses, visual, audio-  they all reverberate. This time, Catrin Welz Stein's digital creations reminded me of Octavio Paz' poem, E"l Desconocido".
And because no translation can't do it justice, I let you hear the Spanish musicality and harmony of these verses. It doesn't even matter if you don't understand the lines, look at the pictures and feel the vibe and rhythm of the words.

Jacques Henri Lartigue, photographer

I discovered Jacques Henri Lartigue (1894-1986) work a few months ago and I was touched by the vibe and the emotions his photos captured. 
Though he was perceived as a successful photographer of his time, being highly appreciated for modern subjects and approach as automobile races, planes and Parisian fashion models, I sense his spirit trying to lock the profoundness of the soul behind the glamorous and superficial lifestyle.
I especially connect with the contrast between old and new in the pictures below.
